The World Beyond Your Head: On Becoming an Individual in an Age of Distraction
Matthew B. Crawford · ★★
Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. --Billy Madison (1995) I found this book to be one of the most insufferable tests of patience I've had to endure yet in my reading life. The ~250 pages could have been reduced to a single page. Although the concept is interesting, its treatment left a lot to be desired. My takeaway was that I should never find myself trapped in a conversation with this guy at a party.
