October 2026 Horrors!!

Six years ago, reviewing Uncle Peckerhead, I hoped Matthew John Lawrence would get a chance to make more movies because I thought what refinement he lacked in his debut was merely a learning curve for an interesting new voice. Well, he made his follow up but the edges got rougher and the ideas less interesting. Lawrence appears to be be consistently half-baked and it's really too bad. Take this movie, for example. Pretty interesting premise, but so terminally underdeveloped that it's actually a problem. It doesn't have holes so much as chasms of missing logic, which no amount of leaping could possibly bridge.
